Juhu Beach street food

Juhu, Mumbai, India

A six-kilometre stretch of sand running up towards Versova, busiest in the evening when vendors sell bhelpuri, pav bhaji, pani puri and gola.

Our take

Juhu is where much of the western suburbs heads for sunset, and the beachfront stalls are the main draw for dinner on a budget. Gola, crushed ice with flavoured syrup, is the classic finish. Combine it with a play at Prithvi Theatre nearby for a full evening.

Best for: Sunset snacks in the suburbs
